Call it the Blues

Working as an engineer for the renewables has made possible for me to travel and live in different regions of Italy or countries in Europe. So, between 2012 and 2017, I’ve been in UK for some 10 months. During this time, as I’m used to do especially abroad, I’ve been spending my days off-work exploring small towns and villages, to satisfy my curiosity for the locals lifestyle.
Britain has always fascinated me though I had never been there before: I love British music at the point that not infrequently it has given me that strange feeling of being homesick for a homeland that is not mine. I don’t know why this happen to me, it could be because of a sincere appreciation for the British lifestyle made of respect for traditions, order, pragmatism, opportunities and love for nature. But maybe it’s just a subliminal trick that comes while I’m driving as I hear Elton John on the radio singing: “I guess that’s why they call it the blues …”.
